One More Jab...
Dick's Sporting Goods was named title sponsor for the BolderBoulder 10K race on Thursday.
Normally this wouldn't be noteworthy, but it sure seems like the marketing team at Dick's is spending an inordinate amount of money on sponsorships in the Denver area.
Could this have anything to do with TSA's headquarters being located in Denver?

I don't know if it has anything to do with TSA being in Denver but Dick's is smart enough to realize that 1) Running has been a growing part of the athletic business 2) Boulder Bolder is a great way to reach the active lifestyle customer and 3)they're dreaming if they think there is sustainability of business from event sponsorship. This is great however for the events, it provides them with additional revenue sources with any additional expenses.
I agree that event sponsorship is a great way to raise brand awareness, and the BolderBoulder is a perfect example. My comment was referring to the fact that there are DSG marketing messages all over the Denver area - It feels like they have a bigger brand presence there than in Pittsburgh.
